Chelsea line-up v Bolton – surprise signing to start and youngsters to feature?

For Jose Mourinho, the League Cup will always hold a special place. The maiden trophy of his first stint as Chelsea boss, he turns his attentions to the competition once again on Wednesday as the Blues kick-off their latest challenge against Bolton.

The games are starting to come thick and fast, and for Chelsea rotation will be key as they take on a Bolton side in desperate need of a positive performance, but Mourinho will be wary of playing too many inexperienced players on Wednesday evening.
Fortunately the Portuguese has a wealth of talent to pick from, so will likely hand starts to a number of established stars who have been forced to watch on so far this season.
Below is how Chelsea could line-up:

Chelsea’s impressive squad depth means that irrespective of who they field, the Blues will always have a strong side on the pitch.
Expect nothing different against Bolton, with the ousted Petr Cech almost certain to start, after seeing his number one spot taken by Thibaut Courtois.
Everything suggests that Chelsea will have a very unfamiliar backline, with Cesar Azpilicueta tipped to revert back to his familiar right-back position, giving summer signing Filipe Luis the chance to strut his stuff at left-back.
In the centre, Blues fans should see the highly-rated Kurt Zouma make a rare appearance, although his relative inexperience should see him paired with a senior centre-back. In this case we believe it will be Branislav Ivanovic.
John-Obi Mikel has seen his game time extremely limited, so this seems the perfect occasion to give him a run out, but it is his expected partner Lewis Baker who will be one to watch. Big things are expected of the 19-year-old, and this would be the ideal time for him to gain much need senior experience.
Chelsea boast one of the most exciting attacks in English football, so Mourinho can afford to start his ‘second string’ attack line with little worry.
