Manchester City stars were forced to take cover at the final whistle of their 2-0 win over West Ham, with fans streaming onto the Etihad pitch as their Premier League title victory was confirmed.
The turf soon cleared as the team returned to the centre of the
stadium, holding the famous trophy aloft for the second time in three
years having pipped rivals Liverpool by two clear points at the summit.
It’s been a breathtaking debut campaign for manager Manuel Pellegrini, whose stewardship has morphed City in a ruthless united unit having inherited a disjointed dressing room from former boss Roberto Mancini.
And he was deservedly delighted following the game, as fans and players were left to celebrate long into the night.
